Ivan Voras is a staff member at the Faculty or Electrical Engineering in Zagreb, working on internet based technologies and their interaction with the real world. He is an open source and open data advocate, with an interest on how technology can be used to solve real world issues in a rational and responsible way. For FEZ13 Festival of knowledge his lecture; 'Our technological present and future' - where have we been and where are we going? Humanking now lives better than ever, longer than ever and with less existential problems than ever. Even if subtle changes are not visible directly, their influence on history is huge. From early beginnings huddled around a camp fire to Facebook, what we do has not changed much, but how we do it is completely unrecognizable to our ancestors. -
